In January the XOXO Girls are being sponsored by an Etsy Shop called Ink&Button. The talented and crafty owner, Lisa Raser, has created a beautiful headband and named it after the XOXO Girls and will be giving it to the 1 lucky winner in the month of January. It's SO easy to enter. All you have to do is pick one of the layouts made by the Design Team Members this month and scraplift it. You may scraplift more of the DT layouts for an even better chance at winning this....
The current January challenge with inspiration from "TEAM X" is due this Saturday on January 16 BUT you will have the entire rest of the month to scraplift "TEAM O" for a chance to win the headband. All entries in the month of January will be eligible to win and the XOXO Girls will be choosing the 1 lucky winner. Can't you just imagine this on your head? I can! It will bring any black ensemble a bit of class and sass! Now speaking of scraplifting, do you ever see something you are totally inspired by and scraplift it on a whim and then forget who you scraplifted it from to give the credit where it is due? I do that a lot, unfortunately. Today though I actually found someone that I scraplifted in the past and I did so randomly. Her name is Tara and here's the layout of hers that gave me my mojo back....
Don't you just LOVE that teal color against the dark wood grain? I love the roughness of this layout and immediately thought of it's masculinity. I found it SO cool that she scrapped her monkey mug and I was visually pleased by this layout of hers. SO much that I created this...."Happy Feet" (after that penguin movie)
I used my leftover Prima packaging too and instead of a monkey I used a penguin. The overall layout of my page is the same as hers except I used slightly different elements on my creation (like brads, stickers and thickers) and different colors as well.

I'm so flattered that you wanted to scraplift my layout!!! It's definately one that I'm pretty proud of ... no patterned paper. The background was made using alcohol inks, paint and a woodgraining tool. I'll never be able to replicate it again. haha!
I love your version ... the little penguin just makes me smile and what a fun title!
Hi Lynnette,
Thank you for stopping by my blog :) I have taken up your suggestion and am now a follower of Candy Shoppe Designs. I played along with the challenge too even though i had never done a 12 by 12 layout before, just mini albums! Thanks so much for the inspiration :)
